Other acts include Bjorn Again, Barry Can’t Swim, De La Soul and more

Michael Kiwanuka, Faithless, Bicep and Jessie Ware have been confirmed as the headliners for Wilderness Festival 2024.

The event will return to Cornbury Park in Oxfordshire on the weekend of August 1-4 this year. Other acts set to play at the festival include the likes of Bill Bailey, Oh My God! It’s The Church, Bjorn Again, Barry Can’t Swim, De La Soul, Alison Goldfrapp and more.

Along with live music, Wilderness will also offer an extensive line-up of comedy, film screenings, Q&As, panels and more available for attendees to take part in. Tickets and camping packages are on sale now. Visit here to purchase tickets.

Last year’s edition of the festival saw The Chemical BrothersChristine and The Queens and Fatboy Slim as headliners. In a four-star review of 2023’s Wilderness festival, NME shared: “Fittingly, the best is saved until last with Fatboy Slim’s incredible closing set on The Wilderness Stage. People in the crowd said how they expected to stay for just a handful of tunes: the Brighton DJ’s big beat classic ‘Praise You’ or ‘Right Here Right Now’. But from the get-go this was no normal performance.

“The DJ – real name Norman Cook – clearly has a love for thick, rib-shattering beats, mashing up classics such as Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s ‘Relax’ and dotting in his own creations such as ‘Rockafeller Skank’. He cleverly introduces the first eight bars of ‘Praise You’ throughout the set before record-scratching into ‘90s rave or techno melters. Eventually he does play a reworked version of ‘Praise You’ that unites the crowd, emitting a warm glow much like the twee statements and berserk happy trippy visuals onstage. It’s the show of the weekend.”

In other news, Faithless’ Sister Bliss has recently returned with her latest solo single, the euphoric house track ‘Do It Right’.

The song arrived shortly after the announcement from Faithless of their return to the stage after an eight-year absence, which will take place at Camp Bestival Shropshire, which runs from August 15-18.

Faithless have not been active on stage since 2016, and the Camp Bestival performance will be their first show since the death of Maxi Jazz in 2022 at the age of 65. Bliss said she was “heartbroken” after Jazz died in his sleep, and that the upcoming show will be in his honour.

Shygirl, Bar Italia, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, Joy (Anonymous) and more have been announced as performers for Iceland Airwaves 2024.

The festival will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and will take place from November 7 through 9 in downtown Reykjavik. Other acts set to perform at the music fest include Saya Gray, Magdalena Bay, Anish Kumar, Inspector Spacetime, Úlfur Úlfur, Klemens Hannigan and more.

“We are incredibly proud to be celebrating not only 25 years of Iceland Airwaves, but 25 years of playing a key part in the careers of some of the world’s most talented artists,” said Ísleifur Þórhallsson, Festival Manager for Iceland Airwaves in a Press release.

He continued: “Over the years we have seen many of our Airwaves alumni grow from strength to strength, often developing into some of the industry’s most acclaimed artists. It is an honour to continue to bring new talent to Reykjavik, and share our beloved Icelandic community with the world.”

Festival weekend and single-day passes are currently available through the festival’s official website. There are also travel bundles available for those who would like to purchase flights and accommodation along with a festival pass. Conference passes are also available for those who would like to attend.

According to the festival’s website, the conference “welcomes music industry delegates and press from all over the world with great speakers and opportunities for networking.” It is also held in collaboration with Iceland Music, Reykjavík Music City and Business Iceland.

Last year’s edition of the Icelandic fest saw the likes of Yard Act, Blondshell, Bombay Bicycle Club, Kneecap, Squid, The GOA Express, Balming Tiger, Lime Garden and more play.

In a four-star review of the festival, NME shared: “Iceland Airwaves succeeds by tapping into the culture and heritage of Reykjavík and expanding on it by booking some of the most exploratory new names worldwide.

“Elisapie sums this up brilliantly on Saturday evening: born and raised in Salluit, a small village in Nunavik, Canada that is only accessible by plane, the singer is evidently over the moon to be sharing her Inuktitut rendition of Blondie’s ‘Heart Of Glass’. It makes for a glorious, emotional set that illuminates this festival’s wide-ranging remit.”

Faithless have announced their return to the stage to celebrate the late Maxi Jazz at Camp Bestival Shropshire 2024.

The performance at the festival will mark their first show in eight years, following the Faithless icon’s death in 2022 at the age of 65. Bandmate Sister Bliss said she was “heartbroken” after Jazz died in his sleep.

Now, they’ll be returning for this year’s edition of Camp Bestival Shropshire – the sister show to the Dorset UK family festival – set to take place on August 15-18 at Weston Park.

Other acts on the bill include Paloma Faith, Rick Astley, McFly, Orbital, Jake Shears, The Darkness, Level 42, DJ Gok Wan, Hak Baker, Say She She, The K’s, Tom Aspaul, Katie Grace, Ellie Sax, Fred Roberts and more.

Speaking about their return to the stage, Sister Bliss from Faithless said: “We are so happy to announce the return of Faithless to the live arena after eight years away, and we can’t think of a better way to return than to the hallowed fields of Camp Bestival, in all their joyful glory.

“This will be one big celebration – we can’t wait for you to come join us; it’s going to be an exciting summer ahead.”

An exclusive 48-hour ticket pre-sale will be available for existing Barclaycard customers on January 31 at 9am until February 2 at 8.59am GMT. Tickets for the festival will go on general sale on February 2 at 9am local time. Visit here to purchase tickets and for more information.

Speaking about the festival’s line-up, festival co-curator Rob da Bank said: “Dust off your dancing shoes, dig out your rave gear and prepare your finest embarrassing mum or dad singalong voice as we unveil the hot off the press line-up for Camp Bestival Shropshire 2024.”

He continued: “Prepare to get no sleep with one of only two festival shows in 2024 for Faithless, who are back with their full live extravanganza. Give it up for Rick Astley and McFly, Paloma Faith, all the Scissor Sisters hits with Jake Shears and wheel out the air guitar for The Darkness. Oh yeah and did we tell you McFly, Level 42 and Sara Cox are there too. And for the night owls still raring to go after lights out… Gok Wan, Craig Charles and Ellie Sax will be spinning till the wee hours too.

“Breaking new talent and championing new bands is always top of my agenda too, so I’m very pleased to announce a rare UK show from Say She She alongside Flowerovlove, The K’s and Coach Party. And that’s just for starters! See you down the front…”

Jake Shears added: “I hope everyone is ready to bring the energy to those fields this summer, because we are going to cut the rug of all rugs at Camp Bestival! Get on your party boots, Mrs. Thing, because it’s going to be another unforgettable summer!”

The Darkness also commented on the festival, saying: “Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls… it is with great honour that we, The Darkness, will grace the stage at Camp Bestival this year. No other band is better able to inject camp or best into a stage performance. Somebody else will have to provide the ival bit. That’s not too much to flipping well ask, is it? See you in the fields of green for a rockgasm of inordinate proportions!”

Primal ScreamRudimental,  Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Confidence Man were amongst the artists that performed during last year’s edition of the festival.

The festival which brands itself ‘the quintessential family festival’ won the Best Family Festival in 2009, 2010, 2013, and 2014 at UK Festival Awards.

Busted, Wheatus, Tom Morello, Enter Shikari and more are among the names who have been added to the line-up of Download Festival 2024.

To be on a bill with so many acts that have inspired us and continue to make us want to be a better band is a real moment in our career. We have had the most amazing 12 months of being Busted, and now we have this to add to the list. We are gonna go all out…Get ready to jump up and down and lose your minds with us. Busted at Download! In an interview with NME, Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme and Dean Fertita reflected on their decision to step up and headline the 2024 edition of the festival, saying they see “no reason to trip out” over the set.

“Is it just going to be same-old-same-old?’ began Homme. “You always have to give it your all and changing it every night is what we’re about, so it’s always going to be something different. I don’t think there’s any reason to trip out.”

Fertita agreed, adding: “I think the reason that the shows have been so good is because there’s a relaxation to the approach. We’ll decide five minutes before going on to play something that we haven’t played in 20 years.”

“And if you see someone with a sign that says, ‘Do this god damn tune’ then it feels nice to just be able to react in the moment,” Homme chimed in. “We come bearing gifts, and we want to give everything away. It’s nice to play Donington, but it’s just as nice to play Bournemouth too. That’s not to cheapen either – they’re both as good as it can get. These aren’t real problems.”

The festival also announced Liquid Death, a sustainable canned water company, as their first ever headline partner. Liquid Death partnered with the festival last year to eliminate single-use plastic, and will appear again this year.

Download’s Andy Copping said of this year’s edition: “After our unbelievable 20th anniversary celebrations last year, we couldn’t be more excited about what DLXXI has in store. This year we have two brand new headliners in the form of Queens Of The Stone Age and Fall Out Boy, as well as the mighty Avenged Sevenfold and a whole host of huge names that make every second of Download Festival memorable.

“I can’t wait to join the fans there – it is our home. With first time headliners and our first headline partner with Liquid Death we are embracing the evolution of Download Festival. We have the best and friendliest community together and we can’t wait to celebrate the next 20 years of Download with you all.”

Last year’s edition saw SlipknotBring Me The Horizon and Metallica take to the stage, with the latter playing two completely different sets for two nights.
